Don't Be Afraid Where the Truth Takes You

Writer: Jai JindJai Jind

In the twilight of belief, where shadows dance upon the walls of our minds, there stands a house—a house built not on solid rock but on the whispers of a serpent. The views from this house are grand, the promises rich, and the illusion of safety is all-consuming. But beneath its surface, unseen by those who dwell within, the ground is shifting, slowly eroding the very foundation upon which their lives are built.

The family, deceived by the silver-tongued salesman, clung to this house as their sanctuary. They raised children within its walls, children who knew no other refuge, no other roof under which to lay their heads. These children grew, their innocence bound to the lies that held the house together, never realizing that the cracks in the walls were not just imperfections, but the early signs of inevitable collapse.

One day, a traveler arrived—a figure of truth, carrying neither sword nor shield, but a light that made manifest all things hidden. He pointed to the cracks, to the sinking foundation, and spoke of the doom that would come if they remained. He offered them a way out, a chance to rebuild on solid ground. But this offer required them to tear down the only home they had ever known, to relinquish the comfort of familiar lies for the uncertainty of the unknown.

But what if this house were more than just brick and mortar? What if it were the very ideas and beliefs we hold dear? The structures we’ve erected around our lives, our identities, our faith? Imagine that the salesman was not just a deceiver of homes, but a peddler of ideologies—a merchant of gods created in our own image, demanding sacrifice, allegiance, and the very essence of our lives.

This house is not just a metaphor; it’s a mirror. A mirror reflecting the way we are drawn into systems that promise security but deliver only bondage. Systems that operate like the most sophisticated of street gangs or the most insidious of pyramid schemes. They lure us in with the promise of belonging, of purpose, and before we know it, we’re not just inhabitants of the house—we are its slaves, its builders, laying brick upon brick at the ground zero of our own undoing.

Consider the pyramid. At its peak, a few bask in the glory, their power built on the backs of countless others who toil below, believing that they too might one day rise. But the truth, cold and unyielding, is that the pyramid stands because of the sacrifice of those at the bottom—those whose lives, time, and very souls are consumed in the construction of something that will never benefit them.

Now, look deeper. These pyramids are not just economic or social constructs—they are spiritual fortresses, demanding worship, demanding blood. The idols we serve, the ideologies we defend, are built on the bones of those who came before us, and we perpetuate their existence with every moment we remain within their grasp. The children born into these systems know no other gods, no other truths, and they too will grow to build the pyramids higher, unless the cycle is broken.

But the traveler, the harbinger of truth, offers another way. He doesn’t come to destroy for destruction’s sake but to liberate, to free us from the chains of deception, from the endless toil of building monuments to lies. He offers us the chance to confess, to acknowledge that we’ve been had, that we’ve placed our trust in the wrong company, in the wrong gods.

And here lies the escape: the name of Jesus. This name is not just a word; it’s a door. A door that opens to freedom, to a foundation that will not fail. The truth is a light, a sword, a spirit that cuts through the darkness, that breaks the chains, that lays waste to the idols of our making. But it requires courage—courage to leave the house, to abandon the pyramid, to step into the unknown where the truth will set us free.

Simply say the name. In the quiet of your heart or the cry of your voice, speak His name. Jesus. There is power in that name, power to tear down every lie, to shatter every chain, to rebuild your life on solid ground. This is not about religion or ritual; it’s about a relationship with the One who is Truth itself, who offers life and life abundantly.

Don’t be afraid where the truth takes you. It may lead you through the valley of shadows, through the collapse of all you’ve known, but it will also lead you to freedom—a freedom that no idol, no ideology, no crumbling foundation can ever provide. The pyramids of deception will fall, the houses of lies will crumble, but the truth, the truth will endure forever. It’s time to rise, to repent, to rebuild on solid ground, where the light of truth will guide your steps, and freedom will be your reward.
